Here is @tinkererstales nearly getting his #kneedown on his #honda #cx500 #caferacer at #broadford #trackday. Josh reckons that if he hadn’t reason 5 meat pies for dinner the night before he would’ve knocked a second off his lap time. #stormtrooper #motorbike #motorcycle.

As it’s warmed up here in Perth and my bike has new rubber, I’m very much looking forward to getting out there this summer.
On the other hand, Mike in Canada is packing his custom CBX up…
"I’m sitting here lamenting the fact the -5C. temps are keeping me indoors. Last weekend’s, short, romp up north was an opportunity to ride in my first snow and ice of the season. Coming back home the temps hovered around 11C. so all was well. I snapped this not far from my place two weekends ago:
So as we hunker down in the face of a looming Canadian winter, and you lot prepare to enjoy your summer (bastards!), I thought I’d take a moment and say thanks again for the exposure you gave my writing and bikes this year.
Great stuff, and a BIG part of the memories that will keep me going until the snows melt away and we’re out riding again up here in the ‘Great White North’.
Take care, Rex, enjoy your summer.”

When I first got my license many years ago, I had to do my riding test on the reliable but totally uninspiring Suzuki GN250. There wasn’t much you could do to make the GN go faster apart from throwing it off a cliff…which after riding it was what I wanted to do to it.
After I got my license (passed first go because I’m a flukey bastard) they replaced the GN with the CB250. Looked like a girls bike to me so when one of my staff asked me to help her look at a bike for her, I was hoping it wasn’t the CB. It was…and I had to test ride it for her.
I put some lippy on and a nice floral dress and took it for a spin around Bondi. The looks I was getting had more to do with a man in a dress (although not too uncommon in that part of Sydney) than how the bike looked as it certainly isn’t a looker.
The engine was good, the handling was fine, braked ok and it was cheap enough so I told her to buy it…because she was a girl.
The last couple of years though has seen the CB250 become a target for customisers and that’s a good thing if it means we get to look at the beautiful creations from a new motorcycle shop out of Zagreb, Croatia - Retro Bikes Croatia. Anything has gotta be better than looking at the stock bike.
Here is the email I got from Zelkjo
We’re a small new opened garage in Zagreb, Croatia (EU) and this is our first project bike.
It’s a 1981 Honda CB250, purchased in good rideable condition with only 28,000 km.
The engine was left intact, all other is modified.
All necessary parts were thrown, the suspension was modified, keihins got open air filters and they were re-jetted.
The bike frame, swingarm and forks are standard (shorter springs), The front brake got steel braided hose and a modern brake master cylinder from a Honda 600. The rear shocks were modified and rear chrome fender is installed.
We modified the mufflers, made the seat, fitted it with clip-ons, Beston grips, we made the battery box.
It’s all renewed, we changed what had to be changed, new liquids, seals, brake pads, shoes, battery, tires and so on..
Hope you like it and we really hope it gets published on your blog.
