Do you recognise the bike above? No…but it sort of looks familiar right?
Remember the “Badger”? (as seen on BikeEXIF, (check out the comments section for a good laugh at the numpty commentators))

No? What about the “Badger v2.0” (as seen on Pipeburn)

Now I don’t know what version this bike is and I don’t really care at the moment as I’m holding a screaming newborn in my left hand, kicking my 3 year old in the butt and stabbing at the keyboard with one finger on my right hand . If you want that sort of detail, check out the write up on BikeEXIF, then head to Pipeburn for version 2 and then head over to the Badger Corse Website for the full story.
The idea behind the Badger project is build a cool bike and then ride it to a track and race it before riding it home with a bag full of trophies. The trophy side of things hasn’t worked out quite as planned…“The Enfield can Vintage race by virtue of it being a “like design”, tracing its roots to the 50’s. We raced in 500GP, and Modern 70’s GP, against Manxs, Seeley Nortons, and some crazy fast Japanese shit.  And, yes to be perfectly honest, the Manx kicked our ass. Well, they all kicked our ass. But our ass was there to be kicked. And, in our defense; no one else even tried riding their bike to the track. :)”
“But our ass was there to be kicked”
But wait, that’s not all! you get a set of steak knifes. No you don’t, I lie. What happens when you have a dude like Leon “shake it till it’s dead” Stanley in charge of the project is ..well, he’s going to shake a few more interpretations out of the bike. So far it has been…
Circuit Racing
Flat Tracking (I’ve seen the video and it’s crazy)
Speed Trialing in both faired and unfaired versions.

What is next? There are rumours around that it might be entered into next years X-Games. I started the rumour so I’m not sure its true.

“While we take the project very seriously (i.e. the racing) we try not to take it soooooo seriously. It’s always been a bit tongue in check, intended to take the piss out of some of the custom bike biz preciousness, and pretense.
The cafe racer TV episode is due to air after the first of the year, I believe; and we’ll hopefully have “The Badger, Made in Trenton” docu / drama set for release after that.”
You’ve gotta love such a modest base bike that looks so good, has been raced HARD in multiple disciplines and has such a great story behind it!
Head over to the BadgerCorse Facebook page and Like it to keep up to date with the shenanigans.
